In order to know the rankings of restaurants, each of them was asked to give a corresponding letter of A to F, A being the highest or best, and F being the lowest or not good. Luckily, none fell into the F category.… Read the rest

A wave of hospitalizations has hit several counties in Texas as the use of synthetic marijuana has increased in the last few months. Synthetic marijuana is an artificial combination of various herbs and chemicals, some of them dangerous, to create a drug with a similar effect to naturally grown marijuana.
Officials say that they have found some variations that have rat poison as well as oils. The increased use of synthetic marijuana, also referred to as K2 or spice, is attributed to its highly addictive nature, easy access, the perception that it is as natural as real marijuana and the difficulty in detecting it during drug tests. It’s colorful packaging also helps attract its young users.… Read the rest
Living in a town with more music venues per capita than any other United States city has an advantage, in that there is always somewhere to go where an awesome new band is playing in Austin, my home.
As a twenty-something single male Austin-ite, I spend a lot of my free time looking into new bands. I especially like new groups that are just coming up or have been around but only started being noticed.

Austin, Texas (CNN) — Most Americans are probably familiar with the T-Shirt slogan “Keep Austin Weird.” Ever since Willie Nelson brought rednecks into an alliance with hippies back in the psychedelic ’70s, Austin has milked its quirky libertarian spirit for a worldwide bonanza of free publicity. Both South by Southwest and “Austin City Limits” were born in the cradle of this stoner plea. But in recent years, the Texas capital has become corporatized, the weirdness factor replaced by Starbucks, Marriott and Chase Bank.
Every Texan knows that Austin and Margaritas are joined at the hip. The margarita is our cultural beverage of choice. If you haven’t had one at Chuy’s, you don’t know what you’re missing!
You can’t ever go wrong by serving Margaritas at a laid back, relaxed party.
I hold a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville party at my house every August when the heat is at its highest here in Hill Country. It’s a perfect time to chill out, drink some cold bevs and catch up with friends.
I like the Margaritaville theme because (a) I love Buffet and (b) it sets the right mood for a late summer party.
To make a Margaritaville party authentic, you have to focus your energy on the right decorations, the right food, tequila, and serving delicious frozen margaritas – while of course playing great Buffet and Texas-style tunes. It … Read the rest
