Austin City Limits Music Festival 2016
There is no denying that the city of Austin, Texas has made a name for itself when it comes to the entertainment industry and particularly the Austin music scene. After all, it is the location for the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival which is an annual festival that attracts crowds of up to 450,000 people every year.
Bottomline, the festival has gained a reputation as one of the main music festivals to look out for every year. This year (2016), the Austin City Limits festival is slated for September 30th through October 2nd and October 7th through October 9th at Zilker Park. The festival will run from 11 am to 10 pm on each of these weekends.
MUSIC ARTISTS TO EXPECT
The 2016 Austin City Limits Music Festival will mark 15 years since its foundation in 2002. The festival will feature more than 130 artists from different genres that include rock, hip-hop, country, folk and indie music among others. To mark the celebrations, the organizers of the show have compiled a star-studded line-up that includes household names such as;

The Austin City Limits festival is not just about music. The festival will feature lots of other activities too. These include;
- Festival-goers can get a taste of Austin’s finest delicacies at the ACL Eats Food Court. The food court features a wide range of foods, drinks, and snacks all from Austin’s most popular eateries and restaurants. Torchy’s Tacos, Austin’s Pizza, Bananarchy, Burro Grilled Cheese Kitchen, High Brew Coffee and Amy’s Ice Creams among others will feature at this year’s ACL food court.
- The Austin City Limits Music Festival also caters to lovers of art with the ACL Art Market which is located right in the heart of Zilker Park. Festival goers will get the opportunity to buy different forms of art and artwork including head gear; handcrafted pieces and jewelry from at least 16 different vendors. This year, art vendors will include Austin Art Garage, Blue Lux, Ornamental Things, Vintage Ware and Mana Culture just to mention a few.
- Festival goers can also tag along their children. In fact, the organizers have arranged for all children aged ten years or younger to get free admission into the festival, only accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. To add on that, the organizers have a special event dubbed Austin Kiddie Limits dedicated to children. Austin Kiddie Limits will open at 11 am and close at 5 pm on each day of the main festival. This mini event will also have its designated area within Zilker Park.
The organizers of the Austin music festival understand the importance of keeping people safe and secure all through the duration of the festival. As a result, they have partnered with the Austin Police Department, the Austin Parks & Recreation Department Police and even a private security firm to ensure and enhance on-site security all through the festival.
Parents can also choose to enroll their child/children in the Tag-a-kid service which is free. This service ensures that parents get easily reconnected with their children in case of separation.
